Boundary Survey

Hobbs State Park is Arkansas’ largest state park, spanning 12,054 acres nestled in the Ozark landscape along the southern shore of Beaver Lake. The project consisted of boundary determination, section break down, and marking with paint the park boundary that traversed six Sections of land, totaling 5.1 miles. Coordination between park officials and private land owners was challenging in some remote areas. CEI’s survey did uncover some areas where private land owners had built fences, sheds, and in one instance, a house that was over the State Park boundary. Most of the survey data was collected by traditional traverse methods as GPS signal was not attainable due to the terrain and canopy cover.
