Lake Ann Dam Spillway

CEI provided professional engineering services to evaluate and design hydraulic and erosion control improvements for the Lake Ann Dam spillway and downstream channel in Bella Vista, Arkansas. The project scope included assessment of existing spillway conditions and coordination with the project geotechnical engineer to support repair recommendations associated with sinkholes and subsurface leakage concerns.

CEI performed a detailed topographic survey of the spillway corridor, producing one-foot contour mapping from a digital terrain model and identifying above-ground features and utilities to support design development.

Engineering services included hydraulic analysis of flow rates and velocities from the spillway downstream to the existing bike trail bridge, as well as development of improvement alternatives consistent with Arkansas Natural Resources Commission (ANRC) requirements.

Upon approval of the recommended approach, CEI prepared construction documents and coordinated permitting, including anticipated Nationwide Permits with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for structural repair and bank stabilization activities.

CEI also provided bidding and construction administration services, including cost estimating, contractor coordination, submittal review, record drawings, and certification as required by ANRC. Stormwater compliance support, including SWPPP preparation, was available if disturbance thresholds required permitting coverage.

Relevance to CPRG Work: This project demonstrates CEI’s ability to deliver resilient water infrastructure improvements involving survey, hydraulic evaluation, erosion mitigation, and environmentally sensitive permitting, consistent with the technical and regulatory expectations of CPRG implementation projects.
