CEI performed extensive due diligence, prepared construction documents and continues to provide construction observation services for a unique data storage center in North Carolina. CEI began its involvement in this project by assisting the architect & client in narrowing down its site selection process from twelve sites to ultimately one 130-acre site in North Carolina.
Sustainability and environmental sensitivity were a large part of the design process for the project team. NCDENR required stream mitigation along 1,400’ of stream along our Western property boundary and protective easements be setup over existing perennial streams and Potts Creek for future preservation. Two large ponds and four bio-retention areas make up the stormwater management system, including a 20,000-gallon rainwater harvesting tank which will count towards the project being LEED certified.
