Hobbs State Park is Arkansas’ largest state park, spanning 12,054 acres nestled in the Ozark landscape along the southern shore of Beaver Lake. Arkansas Highway 12 is a two lane, heavily trafficked highway that runs through the middle of the park. In order to be able to utilize the trails safely and still have connectivity throughout the park, CEI was able to design a tunnel below Arkansas Highway 12. The multi-use trail benefitted both foot and bicycle visitors. Coordination with ARDOT and Arkansas State Parks was necessary for permitting, as well as meeting a combination of design requirements.
