Project Focus: 2685 Walmart Pickup Grocery Standalone

Walmart selected CEI to assist with the online grocery pickup (OGP) program.  Our first OGP project is located in Bentonville, AR and is a standalone pickup facility (i.e. no attached or adjacent supercenter or neighborhood market store), which started as another top secret project.  This was another challanging project for CEI with no standards in place for such a facility necessitating frequent coordination with select few Walmart personnel, as well as other consultants to make the project come together in a short period of time.

CEI provided due diligene investigation, civil engineering, landscape architecture and survey services for the 15,000 SF OGP operation located on a 3.2-acre site, which was odd shaped and adjacent to an existing bank with which the new facility would share two, main access drives.  Further complications included poor soils, as this was a former dump site, and the need to save several mature trees located in not ideal areas.  Through much coordination, several meetings, and long hours, CEI was able to help Walmart open this new, one-of-a-kind facility on schedule.
