Devils Den State Park

The state park was built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps and stands as one of the most intact CCC sites in the US.  An impressive rock dam spans Lee Creek, forming Lake Devil.  The primary purpose of the Devil’s Den project was to provide a pedestrian crossing over Lee Creek and remove pedestrians from the highway bridge.  Efforts are being made to install a bridge with aesthetics and configuration similar to the historic bridge crossing that no longer exists near the new location.  CEI provided survey and civil design services for the 635 linear feet trail improvements and bridge at Lee Creek.
