Steve Pawlaczyk, PE
Client Sector Leader - Walmart Division
About Me
Wayne Gretzky famously said, “A good hockey player plays where the puck is. A great hockey player plays where the puck is going.” That mindset defines how I approach civil engineering and land development—staying ahead of industry trends so our clients benefit from the latest innovations in engineering, technology, and development strategy.
As a leader in our nationally focused commercial division, delivering complex commercial and retail development projects across the country. With more than 30 years of experience in civil engineering and land development, I bring a results-driven approach grounded in hard work, practical thinking, and accountability. Our team is proud to collaborate with top industry talent as part of Walmart’s “Dream Team,” contributing to the design of their new 335-acre, state-of-the-art corporate campus.
My project experience spans more than five million square feet of commercial development, ranging from one-acre bank sites to large-scale projects like the one-million-square-foot Fairlane Green redevelopment. In addition to retail development, I have extensive experience in hospitality, industrial, medical, office, residential, and wetland design—delivering comprehensive, sustainable solutions across diverse sectors.
I’m passionate about building strong teams and lasting client relationships. As an approachable leader and driven competitor, I challenge my team to exceed expectations, deliver high-quality results, and work collaboratively toward shared goals. Whether coaching youth hockey or managing complex engineering projects, I bring the same focus, determination, and commitment to getting the job done right.
Fairlane Green is a LEED Gold-certified commercial redevelopment built on a former industrial landfill in Allen Park, Michigan—recognized as the first project of its kind in the United States.
