Scott Family Amazeum

Project Location: Bentonville, AR

The associates of CEI are very proud of our contribution to this newest, high-profile museum among the growing Bentonville cultural offerings.  The project team was led by Haizlip Studio, a nationally recognized architectural firm specializing in children’s museums.  Haizlip’s vision extends beyond the building structure itself to include the entire site so as to accommodate visitors and children’s activities both within and outside of the museum building.  CEI was challenged to prepare an environmentally sensitive design in collaboration with the project landscape architects.  Storm water management was a key focus, with features including ‘biobasin’ storm water detention, storm water infiltration details to reduce downstream impacts, and a reduced storm sewer system, placing more reliance on overland runoff.

We at CEI feel fortunate to have played a key role in the civil site design for much of the new development in this important area of the city.  Kicked off by Crystal Bridges and the Razorback Greenway adjacent to Crystal Bridges, Orchards and Memorial Parks, and, of course, Amazeum, we believe have all helped equip us with knowledge and experience in this region that we are confident can benefit the next development.
